Shopping Cart Reviews

I’ve been chatting with Igor from Shopping Cart Elite recently. He’s got a product which seems to stand out from the “me too” of many of the products on the market. Some of the more innovative features include:

  • A competition spy module, to watch prices on your competitor sites
  • Some pretty sophisticated SEO features. Virtually all shopping carts on the market claim to have SEO features, but I’ve yet to encounter a cart which is 100% SEO optimized out of the box.
  • Some thorough back office functions such as full inventory management, employee rights and task assignments, and an accounting module.

It’s also got a CRM (customer relationship management) module, which can save a lot of time, making tasks such as support emails with canned responses, supplier inventory integration, and an RMA (return merchandise authorization) module.

Another time saver and revenue generator is the ability to automatically post your inventory to your eBay store and Amazon Marketplace, as well as Google Marketplace. With eBay it claims to even research the competition and automatically suggest an optimized price point to sell at! How’s that for a time saver.

There’s some Shopping Cart Elite educational videos on YouTube to give you more of an idea about the features. Shopping Cart Elite is a hosted solution with a range of price points.

Did he bother to also tell you that the software constantly crashes and most users give up on their websites and move on to other shopping carts?

I signed up for Shopping Cart Elite on March 30, 2010. It was a disaster from the start. They had NOTHING that was promised, a whole lot of ping back and forth between ‘staff’ since these seemed to be a scatter-brain of people in different states. I canceled by Joe on April 1, after receiving no refund, I contacted Gary, my original salesman, turned out Joe sent the wrong email (I am finding this out a month later on April 27 when I saw no refund on my credit card). Spent the whole month of May trying to get their software to work, more problems as 1. you cannot tag your site with the Google bot (you know the one that tells Google you own the site), there was no statistics, the manual did not match the version, they did not accept Linkpoint as they stated in their sales pitch. They wanted another $129.00 to pay for links so other sites could link to you to boost your Google rating. I was 1-5 on Google without adwords or links prior so I told them to can it. After I my dad’s funeral on June 6, I realize this company was just bilking money for nothing so I moved back to my old shopping cart, now 1-5 in Google without any additional funds. I have since been billed $258.00 from Shopping Cart Elite and they have not returned one email to me since June 6. I am in the process of filing a lawsuit against them for fraud!
