"Great features, great free addons, great service. Highly customizable(it takes some time to learn and understadn everything, but then you can literally fine-tune the shop). Slow? Not for me. Bugs? "I love Cs-cart's logic ! But my costumers hate it and buy products elsewhere. CS-CART IS TO SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW. Statistics ? if custumors have to wait longer than 3 seconds for a product to just show up, they leave the shop. Be aware of that unless .... you don't want to sell !!!!"

"I've used many shopping cart solutions in the past and I have to say that hands down, this is the most powerful and easy to use solution. I am a wordpress developer, and I'd say that that the backend admin is on par with wordpress as far as UI goes.
I was in a marketing meeting with high level designers and web developers and they were very impressed with the checkout process, backend and range of features that cs-cart has to offer right out of the box.
In addition, I was concerned about getting into a shopping cart solution that didn't offer support, and i have to say that the support has been A+. They get back to me within a day, and are clear on answering all of my questions.
The bottom line is that you will be hard pressed to find the value, integration, features and support for a cart at this price. Keep up the great work cs-cart, I look forward to working with you long term!"

"Why "CS-CART Rocks!"
I have used a number of different shopping carts...and tried virtually all of them at one point or another.
I am currently running a Joomla/VirtueMart store while developing a new store based on CS-CART.
My experience is that VirtueMart is a pain if you want/need anything more than just the simple set up. It has nowhere near the "features" I need to sell my products the way I want to sell them...and their Forums are a mess, literally worthless. I've got simple questions out there that haven't been answered for months...
I tried SunShop...it's a reasonably comparable shopping cart to CS-CART...quite easy to work with and not complicated at all. I could recommend it for those just beginning. However, it didn't provide everything I needed to do what I want with my store and it costs about the same as CS-CART.
I've been through Pinnacle Cart, Interspire, X-Cart, ViArt, DigiShop and Volusion.
None of these can even compare to my CS-CART experience, I've actually had "FUN" working with it and the people here on this Forum...I can't remember the last time I had fun working with an application.
The code, format and functionality is well written and organized, once you understand how it works, it's been quite simple to do things that I need to do on my own.
Their support has been phenominal! I have made 36 support requests and all but 2 of them were addressed and explained thoroughly the very next day. The 2 that weren't are currently being worked on. I have the utmost confidence in this shopping cart, their support and the people who volunteer their time on this Forum.
I can honestly say, by my experience and IMHO this is BY FAR the best shopping cart on the market today."

"I would steer clear of this cart if I had it to do over again. There are numerous issues with the way the cart handles orders. Also compared to many carts, this cart is designed horribly on the back-end. There are template files EVERYWHERE and it makes for a tough customization. Another big issue is performance. The cart is SLOOOOW... Don't get me wrong, there are some very nice features in CS-Cart but overall there is much to be desired. Test thoroughly and read the CS-cart forums well to go over the issues before you purchase."

"Extremely poor upgrade path, nagging bugs that are not addressed. Support costs "points" which you buy. Unfortunately due to upgrade problems and bugs you end up getting charged "points" for them to fix problems that their software causes. They do not respond to matters in their "support forums". Dont believe what many say in reviews, go see for yourself. Look at their support forums and you will see nothing but problems with bugs, features not operating proper, upgrade nightmares and none of the CS-Cart staff addressing the problems. Instead they want you to buy support points and then they will help you! Again, dont take my word for it. DO a Google Search "CS-Cart forum" and go read for yourself. This purchase was one of the worst decisions I ever made because they send their "supporters" here to review and I believed what people wrote. Its a horrible experience to go through with this software."

"Possibly the worst task to perform with Cs-Cart is to add any custom features / coding yourself. The file structure is horrible. It uses the Smarty PHP Templating language, which is mistake number 1. Then they go and somehow make Smarty less functional, amazing!
The Cart is extremely slow, as a 6 year PHP / MySQL developer, I've never seen such a mess when it comes to coding standards and confusion. I would avoid at all costs if you want to customize / change anything."

"We've been using CS-Cart 2.0.x for the last month, and have been very impressed.
The Pros
It was a snap to import our current catalog from a CSV file. SEO tools allow us to optimize all pages, including product categories and product pages. The new Web 2.0 frontend interface on the default template is fresh and kinda cool! The included "addons" saved us hundreds of $$$ compared to X-Cart. The checkout process is basically one step, which I think helps get the sale. The administrative reports are very handy especially in conjunction with Google Analytics.
We didn't pay the $265 since we purchased from an official CS-Cart reseller, BlueLab.com. Their price was $220, which was a nice savings. Even though we purchased from BlueLab.com, the software and support still came from CS-Cart.com.
The Cons
CS-Cart 2.0.x is a huge update to the last version of CS-Cart: we noticed a small issue with the new template, but the good news is that CS-Cart is very responsive and pleasant.

"As a webhosting and website design company, we decided few years ago to 'dump' frustratingly buggy opensource shopping carts for commercial shopping carts that are well maintained and updated regularly and professionally. A thorough search led us to cubecart (opensourced and later commercial) which seem to meet the needs of our various clients at the time. A few years later, we had a client with more 'sophisticated' needs which became apparent to us that cubecart could not meet. A new search led us to CS-Cart. Now we've deployed CS-Cart for more than 18 months now and we were pleasantly surprised at this wonderful shopping cart. We wondered why we never discovered it much earlier. Our clients are very well satisfied with CS-Cart and we will be migrating our older clients to CS-Cart in the nearest possible future. We very strongly recommend CS-Cart over all other shopping carts! No regrets at all for choosing CS-Cart over CubeCart and others...

"I'm currently evaluating many carts.
I've tried Interspire,Magento,Viart,Avactis,Actinic and more.
CS-Cart is without doubt the best BUT.....
Its SLOWWWWWWWWW.
I tried it on localhost first and thought maybe it was my laptop, but after installing it on Hostgator I get the same Slow response.
EG Viart loading < 0.5 Seconds compare that to over 3 seconds for Cs Cart.
Its a shame as apart from that its super.
But... customers wont hang around long on your site if its slow.
Cs Cart... Get a grip and Speed it up a bit..no a LOT !

"After having perused the documentation and played with the online demo (admin panel and front end) for a while, I am now installing the new version 2.0 beta.
First, I am very impressed with the docs - A full 338 page user manual, that looks extremely carefully done. It appears to have been written with an eye towards being understood, and providing a modicum of context, as opposed to the much lazier method, of just listing what each granular function does.
The install for the beta cart is WONDERFUL!
Although the 1.x admin interface was lovely, the 2.0 interface is even prettier. VERY Web 2.0, in a good way. Tabs up top, with big shiny letters, and enough DHTML so they just open right up, no waiting.
Woo hoo! The out-of-the-box experience of the demo store is already so far beyond the visual user experience of Zen Cart! That just feels very Web 1.0, and this is so clean and pretty! Loving it already. Clean, pretty, friendly. Very nice drop-down multi-level category menus. Nice--when you click on the sub-tabs in the product listings, again DHTML means you don't have to wait for a server call.
This is very designed with a real buyer in mind -- one-page checkout, easy breezy feel throughout.
And so far, they seem to have a *very* rich feature set, even including drop-ship capability, real-time shipping calcs for all the major players, and an amazing array of payment options.
And quite happily, since the 1.x version, they have intergrated the WYSIWYG editor so it appears in-frame when you want it, not in a popup window. And it's a good technology -- pretty sure the same as the one used by WordPress. (Note - As a designer, I'd like to be able to DISABLE some of the local formatting options! Probably not too hard to do.)
Adding a category, automatically pretty little "add a product" and "add a subcategory" links handily available. They have really thought this interface through -- that is the only way you get simplicity with comprehensiveness!

Then add on the fact that the support is truly outstanding, It adds up to a great buy, Stop searching for your next cart software you have just found it. You will not be disappointed. Unless you have around $3000 to waste on a more expensive cart system. That wont be half as good. BUY IT NOW"

"Our company has used most carts out there and discovered they "paint you into a box". Not so with CS-Cart. Very well designed interface with the user in mind. Adding products is quick and easy, not the case with the other carts we used.
We've never used a PHP cart before but discovered we don't need to know PHP. Plus, the Forum is very useful and answers most questions quickly. The few times I've contacted Support I had my answer in 24 hours and was back on my way.
Our products are complex with many options and CS-Cart provides flexibility displaying the options how I want them. Great Job!"

"As Internet Marketeer I've tested many e-comm solutions and every time there was something missing: SEO, multi-language, technical support, XHTML/CSS, templates etc...
Then I found CS Cart...
Not only the package has all the features I and my customers needed, but if something extra has to be done as customized projects they can do it on a very professional basis.
At first I was reluctant because working with other countries can be a hassle but not with CS-Cart.
I have no advantages in writing this review, but the truth is the truth: software and developers are just great!"

Easy to use, great support, and affordable. Im going to be getting 5 more licenses in the next month or two for sure. "Many features as standard but the support is terrible. Ive found them to be rude on most occassions and when you have a problem they want to charge you extra to fix it, even within the 30 day warranty.
They also have an upgrade program which is buggy to say the least, it brought my whole site down including subdomains running other software and they refuse to provide manual upgrade instructions. Read their forums for more on this.

"This cart virtually makes every other cart on the market obsolete. 8 years ago, when i started my store there were very few options and most were $1000 or more. I chose to go with miva because of developer support and module extendability. I used tons of mods and was happy to have them. I also had to write a script to build static pages -it was good because of search engines but necessary because of speed. at the time, i knew of no carts that could do this. 5 yrs Later a developer made a mod for this made things little easier. but wow everything was slow - it got to the point that the store administrators were incapacitated because of limitations mostly do to the ineffecient code (time-outs) and incredible time requirements to make any updates. later i decided to go to miva 5 this was the worst decision of my life i had a highly customized store with tons of mods all which i purchased for 5 and a few more to try to get my current store functionality into ,plus i hired 2 developers to write code that wouldnt work in M5 because the never published the new DB function library. ultimate waste of $600 Anyhow i went in search of a new cart and was amazed at the crap that is still out ther 8 years after i originally started. nothing that was search engine friendly and certainly nothing that had all the functionality that i had added to my store with miva mods. I really needed static pages with that just because i have been spoiled on the performance and believe it always helped my conversions. this in itself was almost impossible mind all the other things i required.there were less than 8 out of 1000s that were even search engine friendly. Anyhow when i found cs-cart I knew it was what i needed i demo'd it and was astounded by its features. out the box was most like my store, and it wasnt hard to get some special customizations i wanted took 15 min for what i wasted 2 weeks $600 in M5. all this and search friendly, best function,best admin, best support, best price."

"CS-Cart is by far the most robust and flexible shopping cart solution out there. It is out-of-box loaded with features and extras that are typically add-ons with other carts.
The ability to customize the templates and design is very straight forward once you understand the simplicity of the program.

"We've had the cart for almost 10 days and are up and running without submitting a single support ticket. While not the simplest cart to set up, it is feature rich and solid. The previous cart we were using was a disaster. I was told that I had a record 31% of all support tickets submitted. Well, when a product doesn't work that's what happens. "I never review anything, but I had to for this great software. This is the best kept secret in PHP/MySQL eCommerce. I've used nearly every cart out there and could never find any that worked to my liking. After looking long and hard I found CS-Cart, and I so gland I did. "I've used many carts, X-Cart, OSCommerce, Zen Cart, and others. Nothing comes close to CS-Cart. They LISTEN to their customers unlike X-Cart, and include features they way customers want them. Their cart comes with the easiest admin interface of any of the others and their choice of templates are included free. They dont nickel and dime you like the other ones. "I am so glad I found this cart software after using another one for years. I was always busy trying to make options work and installing modification after modification. I always wondered why I couldn't just have a cart with options that worked and that provided systems that I thought should be included but weren't. Then I discovered CS Cart and my prayers were answered. This is a great cart and the forums are very helpful. I have been able to modify my store just by doing a search in the forums.

Good support, forums, very nice built-in templates, live-help, product configurator, easy install, full code (no zend/ioncube)

CS-Cart is a comprehensive package that is growing in leaps in bounds. Version 1 was showing a lot of promise, but version 2 is showing a real maturity. It's also a great price.
Lots of nice little touches make it a compelling product. For example, it generates a Google sitemap.xml file. While this is basic and simple to do, it's amazing how many products don't do this.
Sophisticated inventory management, customer rewards points, extensive use as AJAX and more make this a product that belongs on most people's short lists.
A very friendly community is a good asset for those looking to customise. The skinning system is also very powerful.
