"You would consider this if you use a Cold Fusion server and Dreamweaver for your site development. The product is well supported if you can wait a day or two for an answer to your questions via newsgroup. The group has formed a bit of a clique and if you fall into disfavour you may have to wait longer or not get answered at all.
The real big downer is the fact that they do not support credit card capture in any way. In other words, you MUST use a third party credit card processing gateway and pass the credit card processing over to them. This can increase the overhead to a viable business by a factor of 5-10%. So if you had a productive website that did $10,000.00 in sales transactions a month this could become a $1,000.00 liability to you. That is why it is probable that this cart would never be used by mid to large sized companys.
If you are a developer and use Cold Fusion and Dreamweaver to code sites for small home based businesses the liberal licensing policy and integration would make this a good choice. Do not use it if you need to process credit cards yourself or if your client has a merchant account. If you are building for a brick and mortar, you'll need to turn elsewhere."

"We bought cartweaver in an effort to get our toy shop online. Out of the box it seems a super product but when you start to think about changing the look of your site things become difficult. The menu display is very simple - 1 level, in the admin you can add a secondary category but I have no idea what is actually does. We tried to alter the admin pages and database to include sub-categories for each main category also manufacturer details. Just as we were getting somewhere they brought out an update because of the many errors on the original release. It soon became apparent the cartweaver staff although gave support in the CW forum, classed many things as customisations and gave no support at all. Sadly with all their knowledge they have produced a piece of cart software which is only ok. A little more time and a little more thought and it would maybe match up with http://www.comersus.com/index.html which is what we now use"
