"I've used EROL for nearly three years and have been most happy with the product and the service. My main preference for EROL was the design tools available - as a designer I need to know my designs can translate easily to an e-commerce package and EROL handles anything I throw at it! I think that some of the management tools can be improved, and I know that accounts integration is coming soon, but my clients can still print off their invoices, pick lists, address labels for packing, e-mail their customers special offers etc. in the current version, which is everything most people need so things can only get better! There were a few issues with the inital release of EROL 3.6 but these are all long sorted and it offers so much more than the orioginal 3.0 version. Personally I can't wait until version 4!"

"Complete waste of time.
Support is almost non existant and reading through the forums it looks as though they only have have a handful of customers all of which were also moaning about the lack of support.
I used this product for almost 12 months before moving on to the other leading cart supplier in the UK.
Best move I ever made.

"full of bugs and erol dont like anyone making bad comments about there software when we are only trying to help, constuctive criticism i think its called. Erol delete any constructive criticism from the forums. Im now looking for a better software package and a company who looks after there customers unlike erol."

"The reason for 5 - Excellent is the fact that I am in charge of the store design. I have been using Erol for a few years now, and also various other e-commerce software applications. With every software application I used, there was some issues, but when you want them resolved, Erol came tops, then os-commerce.
Erols features are getting better and better, and very soon i think every body will be looking at Erol as the major E-commerce software to have."

"I have run my EROL store for a year now, and it has taken us from a startup business to a point now where we have turned over +£100k in Yr.1
The package takes a while to get to grips with(as all new packages do) but over any other cart I looked at it enabled me to design a site that didnt look like everyone elses on the same package.
EROL's backoffice offers all I need to be able to run my stock, orders and manage and market to customers. There are a few issues I have had with Stock control, but these have also been recified with patch updates - again as per Microsoft or anyone else so it appears!
I have to comment on Support after 'Paul's' review above - I can only assume he didnt try using support? I got 30x days Free Telephone Support with my order, and ongoing Free Helpdesk Support once expired. I wanted to continue Telephone support so bought a package for this - and the guys and girls there cant be helpful enough when i call. And - and I find this unusual - the support is provided by people who actually use their own products!!
If in doubt on this they also provide Free Support to triallists who may not even buy the product!
I cant wait for the new version due in Q1 next year - apparently! but can recommend on my experience that the product does what it says on the box, and when issues arise they get resolved."

This cart has a good VAR (value added reseller) community, although isn't the cheapest. They have a UK focus but do sell globally. The source code isn't available, so one can't modify it without the support of the company. |
