"I've been using this cart and website solution for years in it's various versions. They are now on release version 8 - it really is a different beast. I've looked at other carts over the years and keep coming back to ShopFactory. They've kicked up this version with the real features I need for my online store and I'm getting no. 1 on all the search engines. I've trialed online solutions, and I still love the fact that with the ShopFactory software I can do all the work on my PC then upload - works much faster than a hosted solution."

"I've been using ShopFactory for years now and must say that it is the easiest to use ecommerce software I have ever seen.
It comes with all the functions you need and you can create your own designs very easily with the dreamweaver extentions that come with the software.
It does support PayPal for free and it also supports a large number of other payment providers such as Verisign, Worldpay, HSBC, 2Checkout Protx and others.
The supportdepartment answers all your questions within a couple of days. They can even assist you in customizing your website.

"I got ShopFactory 5 on a covermount DVD from a magazine. I never used it that much because I did not like the way you could not see the changes you made straight away. You had to always preview to see how your site looked. I was about to junk it and start again when I saw the Version 6 Demo. The extra features and fact that you could see the changes as you were making them sold me on this program. I found it really easy to use and had created mny website in a single weekend. I have upgraded to ShopFactory 6 professional and have not had any problems with speed or any other errors and I am using an old P3 700Mhz PC."

"I never used ShopFactory V5, only Version 6 and I love it. For those that find it hard to use, the help contents has answered my questions. So far I haven’t even needed support.
It’s easy to add products and change the theme and I don’t find it runs slowly. I love the ease of putting new products in and setting specials to run for certain times.

"Not sure which version of ShopFactory 6 these people have been testing, but I have been using my ShopFactory Developer version for a number of months now since upgrading from version 5 and am extremely happy.
Sure it is a bit more complex, but it has many more functions than before. Its all just point and click, supports many payment methods and systems - including PayPal.
I yet have to find a solution which is easier to us.

"Shop Factory 5 was a good product.
Shop Factory 6, (& I use the "Developer" version at AU$1200.00 a pop), has had many problems.
Firstly Shop Factory 6 is written in JavaScript.
When first released many antivirus programs picked it up as a virus because their coders originally piggy-backed the extensions of all the JavaScript files.
eg: instead of file.js they used file.js.js
Why? Who knows.
One thing that should be mentioned very clearly to anyone considering version 6 is you had better know JavaScript extremely well.
As Shop Factory is probably the worst company I have ever encountered for product support - bar none! "

"I recently upgraded from SF 4 to SF 6. Big mistake.
Version 4 was easy to use, 6 is difficult and clunky. Free support is now only 30 days.
If you do buy this program, be sure to check it out well in the first 30 days so you can return it.

"I used to use Shopfactory 5 and it was fine. Version 6 seems to be a big step backwards - lots of bugs, it runs very very slowly and the ease of use which I used to love seems to have disappeared completely!"

"Shop Factory comes in a variety of software. The company produces the following:
1. Shop Factory Light:
Has been designed to make shop building as easy as possible and to give you a great entry into the world of e-Commerce. ShopFactory Light supports one shop department with up to 50 products. Limitations - you are tied into GlobeCharge as your payment gateway & can only have 50 products.
2. Shop Factory Professional:
You can build and maintain as many shops as you wish for yourself only. More options than the "light" & you are not tied into any payment gateway.
3. Shop Factory Developer:
For the designer and is licenced to create and maintain as many client sites as you wish. More coding & customisation options than either the "light" or the "professional" editions & you are not tied into any specific payment gateway.
An excellent product featuring ease of use, great security, and allows for full control over every design aspect of your shop. With powerful adjustable templates, developer guide and designer function ShopFactory Developer allows for advanced customisation. It also includes SalesManager Pro and ImportWizard Pro.
4. Shop Factory International:
Exactly the same as the "Developer" edition but also allows for creating web sites in foreign languages.
I have personally used the "Professional" for over two years & the "Developer" for about 18 months now. I am yet to see a better commercial product in its price range that has all the features & ease of use as Shop Factory Developer. The Professional & Developer editions also include free SSL.
