"If you decide to go with Volusion for a shopping cart I would leave it at that. Do not use their merchant card provider because you will wish you never even talked with them. Their merchant services is with Global Payments, and Volusion is the middleman to Global Payments. If you call to find out any thing about run credit cards their answer is going to be "I will have to look this up and will have an answer withing 3-4 days." This is sucks when you are looking for your money. If you use them again only use them for their shopping cart, and use global payments as a merchant provider and skip the middle man. Dont get suckered into their discount rate because it will in the long run costing you a fortune."

"First the good - cart seems to get you indexed quickly for google. the big g seems to like the way volusion creates the static pages. They give you free live chat service.
The bad - incredibly steep learning curve. No real-time phone support. There is a number but you'll never get through. the affiliate system doesn't work properly (think of all of the pissed off affiliates you'll have), no product feed exports, they demand that you leave their link on the bottom of the page. Oh, they will take it off for an extra $20 per month. Total B.S.
Conclusion - I have four e-com sites all on different carts. My volusion site is the one that I will move first. There are more feature rich carts for less money (net sol) that are sooo much easier to use. It's a shame because volusion had the potential to be a really good cart, but they like so many other small providers are stretched too thin to keep up with their own growth while chasing the indutry's newest feature sets to remain competitive. I say pass on this one..."

"I have been with Volusion for over 3 years now and regretted it for almost that long.
There are some good things about volusion software. It makes a nice looking site and is fairly customizable. However, once you become an experienced user you start to see the flaws. There are bugs everywhere. The tech support is just one small notch above useless. They very rarely fix or update anything. There are bugs in this software I found and reported 3 years ago that are still present. For example, they recently made a back end server side change that broke the "fixed shipping" feature on individual items. After a week of back and forth emails to convince them that they really did break the feature, it took them 63 days to fix the problem. For that 63 days, I could not sell any products with fixed shipping through the website. It all had to be processed manually and done over the phone.
Also, speed is a major issue with volusion. My website frequently takes 20+ seconds per page load and has since day one. I kept telling myself it would get fixed eventually, but 3 years later it's still the same. I've complained multiple times and they just deny that there is a problem and blame it on "my connection" or some other bogus BS. Even though the website behaves the same when accessed from any other computer around the world.
Unfortunately, once you choose a ecommerce provider and get everything set up, it is an enormous undertaking to switch to someone else. You'll mess up all your search engine links and rankings, plus have to reconfigure all you products over again. Make a good decision to start so you don't get stuck where I am today. Don't choose Volusion."

"Horrible, Horrible, Horriible. DO NOT touch this service. To begin- they have wonderful software. I was so excited to use this service. However, I didn't look good enough into the bandwidth limits - which are very low. At their top level plan you are only allowed 25GB -- and then they charge you $7/GB over that! $7!! Most reputable places charge .30 to .50/ GB over the limits. So this was eating away profits as we were using about 100GB per month. And we are a small business. They will tell you that most places don't use over 25GB - well, that simply is not true. Especially when you have to allow room for not just visitors, but spiders and whatnot that crawl your site and eat up bandwidth as well.
So have thousands of dollars down the drain and hundreds of hours of work into creating our store through them -- we have to switch because the bandwidth overage charges are simply outrageous.
P.S. -- if you are small now you may be ok to begin. But as your business grows - you'll just be working all those extra hours only to pay for the overage fees and not much more in your pocket. DEFINITELY SHOP ELSEWHERE!"
